You should try and clear all the jelly on the reachable areas before using the fish. It's luck at the begining to do this, and you won't have much moves to do so if you idle too much or take out the fish too fast.
If
you use the fish too early in the game, it will hit the reachable
jelly, making the unreachable jelly at the bottom to get, unless you
form a combination of vertical stripes. Don't forget the bottom areas
only need to be hit twice, not completely break (the bottom must look
like foil, or choc foil).
